General Chairman of Indonesia Electric Industries Association (Aperlindo) are confident that the domestic LED tube light market can grow this year , which is expected to reach 15 million and mainly consumed by domestic.

To the first half of this year , the domestic consumption of LED tube light has reached 2 million , but as far as, the exact number of LED tube light imported can not be controlled , because the government has not yet launched the harmonized system  of LED tube light. ” I am confident to reach 15 million , and now may have reached 50% , but there are exact figures for LED tubes imported , because the government has not yet formulated the Harmonized System of LED tube .”John said.

He hoped that the government does not mix LED tube light and energy saving lamps (LHE) together and formulate a separate Harmonized System for the LED tube light by about 15-25% of the import duty. According to a separate coordinate system and import duties , the domestic LED tube lighting industry will improve , because there are a lot of investors who have been asking questions about the industrial investment in LED tube light.”

Compared to pay 25 % import tax required, investors will be more choice to build factories in the country , but also conductive to the sustainable development of  LED lamp market in Indonesia.

Energy-saving lamps imported can be reduced to by 2% based on the consumption of 15 million this year  , or even industry of LED tube light will dominate the market the next few years, , which is the same as energy-saving lamps developing.

He stated that large qualities of energy-saving lamps began to be used in 2002 and has been dominated 95% of the market, although the production of LED tube light is still low, at present, there are several companies began to interest in industry of LED tube light.
